Collection: Scupltures
Sculptures in ancient bogwood 500 years old. These beautiful pine, oak and yew trees grew thousands of years ago on the Irish landscape. They lay hidden under the bogs for thousands of years and brought to the surface through turf production. We ‘save’ the timber when exposed to the elements on the bogland; we take it into our workshop and dry slowly over two years. When it’s at 10% moisture we can then carve into sculptures. The plank of wood makes the long elongated silhouettes and when carved by hand they are always connected to the natural roots, polished and carved.
